Envoy Wong spent over 20 years in the international public relations
profession. He distinguished himself through the successful consolidation,
integration and synergisation of every instances of time-sensitive and
critical information from various government and public channels. By
establishing proactive and open stance in communicating with the
community, he maintains close relationship with
governments (China, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, Vietnam etc.) and the
media, local and overseas.
Envoy Wong has been serving the Salvation Army since 1980 and is currently
at The Salvation Army Sri Lanka Territory as the
Community Relations and Resources Development Director
with additional responsibility on Tsunami Programme and Administration.
He was decorated as one of the very few Envoys in the command in 1997.
In addition to being a loyal and faithful Salvationalist, Envoy Wong is
very active in public services. He was the President of the Rotary Club of
Peninsula Sunrise (1998-1999), a Paul Harris Fellow, and has been appointed
for various responsibilities to serve the Rotary International District 3450.
He is also the Honorary President, Red Cross Society of XiangXi Prefecture,
Hunan Province, Peoples Republic of China.
In recognition of his work in the public services field, Envoy Wong has been
invited by the Hong Kong SAR Government to become committee member of
various public boards and committees.
Envoy Wong holds a Master of Science degree in Non-Profit Management from the
New School for Social Research, NYC. He became Non-Executive Director in July 2000.
