Ten years ago, the high-tech market was getting set for a confrontation.
The Intel i486 CPU had just been introduced and industry pundits said there was
really no need for it unless one wanted to run a really big file server and that
for most applications, a good-old 286 was perfectly suited. Almost no one appreciated
what we at Wyith had started working on with Minix iAPX 386 systems - workflow
solutions operating on private domains and interlinked networks. People now call
this Enterprise Resources Planning and Supply Chain Management on VPNs.
Hongkong - Dec 10, 2001 - Wyith is pleased to announce the
celebration of its first decade of dedication to Internet engineering and
domain space research efforts since its establishment in 1991 and incorporation
in 1992.
The Founding Years

Wyith was first founded as a research firm for workflow solutions operating in
private domains and interlinked networks based on Minix platforms (now called
ERP/SCM on VPNs). The idea was to redefine the way businesses operate and people work.
With a consistent and conservative business plan, Wyith grew from a small research
centre, with less than a dozen customers to a worldwide business with over 40,000 customers.
This business model has established Wyith as a major player, since 1995, in the
public domain-name-space-heirarchy research and analysis business.
Awards and Recognitions

Wyith witnessed the advent of the Internet age. In 1997, it was invited to be one of
the first 219 signatories of the ITU
Generic Top Level Domain Memorandum of Understanding (gTLD-MoU). In 1999 June,
Network Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:NSOL) (now Versign, Inc.) awarded Wyith the first Asian Premier Gold Partner Recognition. In October, it was awarded
Melbourne IT Limited's (ASX:MLB) 1st Gold Partner Recognition
and in 2000, the Key Strategic Channel Partner Recognition.
Hence establishing Wyith's credentials in the Asia Pacific domain-space business.
Hutchison Whampoa, the 2nd largest listed conglomerate in Hong Kong, also awarded
Wyith an Acknowledgement
of Appreciation for the wide range of secure, reliable and sophisticated
Internet services as well its research efforts in novel solutions.
CNN Financial News: "The Dot-com Survivor"

Wyith has always maintained a conservative and low-profile approach to
marketing. This cautious approach has saved it from the dotcom
blowout and has proved to be very successful. CNN's
BizAsia featured Wyith as "The Dot-com Survivor" in Jan 2001.
Acquisitions and Mergers

The acquisitions of DomainAvenue.com and
ServiceProviders.net in 2000 and the subsequent merger with Wyith.org have proved to be
very constructive and its latest acquisition of Banana.com.hk
in 2001 has further marked the confidence of Wyith in deepening its stretch in
the regional domain markets.
Social Responsibilities

Wyith has since 1996, operated a not-for-profit international political forum,
Socialism.org, and has
an active engagement in pro bono activities for other NGOs, including The Salvation
Army, Arts Development Consortium and Opera.com.hk. Wyith also works with and sponsors
computer training projects initiated by other NGOs, such as the OnlineLesson.net Project
with the Rotary Club.
Preparing for the 2nd Generation

With the endorsement of the local government, Wyith operates its own
training centre in Guangdong, China and carefully
selects undergraduates and matriculated high-school graduates from major
public schools to undergo Wyith's own training in Information Engineering
and Ethics. The training is offered free of charge to the students, who are
under no obligation to work for Wyith thereafter. Senior trainees are
offered internships at Wyith and full-time positions upon graduation. The
number of students admitted in 2000 was 60 and this number is expected to
grow to about 300 for the 2002 intake.
Toward The Next Decade

"The last decade of Wyith has made us proud of our work and more confident in our
business strategy," said Dr Raymond Cheng, Managing Director
of Wyith Incorporated. "Having our consistent and conservative business plans proved true,
we shall strive and continue to build and complete our business model with even
greater perseverance in the decade to come." Dr Cheng continued, "We are
launching approximately ten new products and services in the coming year
and we are also working on a new set of integrated services for customers who
rely on us for their workflow/operations control. Our next goal is to reprogram
and help reallocate our customers' computing resources within their domain
and make the power of computing available to them anytime and anywhere. Computing
algorithms will adapt to suit practical office ergonomics and will further
lower operating costs."
"Wyith already is working to build that future - in research and development
labs, with customers and partners. The next 10 years of domain research and analysis
promises to be as exciting as the first." Dr Cheng added.
